My Experience
I received my BA in Psychology from the University of Southern California in 2016 (fight on!). I went on to receive my MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego in 2018. I started practicing psychotherapy in 2017 when I worked with children and families with severe trauma. From 2018-2020 I worked for San Diego County in a psychiatric urgent care, helping those with severe mental illness receive emergency mental health and psychiatric services.
I am an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and hold a certification in Consensual Non-Monogamy through Sexual Health Alliance (SHA).
I have training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples/relationships as well as Emotionally Focused Therapy for Individuals (EFIT). I am also Level 1 trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) theory.
My Approach
My therapy style is friendly, casual, non-judgmental, and filled with humor and normalization. I often come from the view point of radical acceptance of who we are and what we are doing right in this moment. I use techniques like mindfulness-based CBT, narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and attachment theory to build a framework, but am eclectic in nature-- meaning I use the approach that best suits your needs and is tailored to you as an individual.
My Clientele
I work with adults, transitional-aged youth (ages 18-25), elders, and all relationship styles. I am LGBTQUIA+ and polyamorous-identified and an ally for BIPOC communities. I work from a sex positive, kink-allied lens.
